The crisp winter air has enveloped Buenos Aires and it’s time for sweaters, coats, and boots. In these chilly days, a gal can’t live without these fundamental seasonal accessories. Here’s where to find them.

Although it’s well known as one of the chicest shoe stores in BA, <ahref=”http://www.mishkashoes.com.ar”target=_blank”>Mishka has now released a clothing line filled with soft sweaters. The new collection offers a variety of different styles in distinctly winter colors such as navy blue, cream, and burgundy. In addition to the comfortable sweaters, Mishka’s new jeans line is high quality and fits well, which can be hard to
come by in this city. Keep your eye out for the line’s sexy leather jacket, which is a perfect piece to layer with your new cozy sweaters. Just beware: the prices definitely reflect the quality. Mishka located at El Salvador 4673 or Balcarce 1011

When the rain starts pouring, it’s important to be ready. We wouldn’t want our leather jackets and boots to get soaked, so in times of need, I head to Seco. This lovely little store stocks waterproof boots, jackets, umbrellas, and even sneakers, and each item comes in delightful prints and bright colors. At Seco, you can create an entire wardrobe that protects you from the rain. If you’re shopping on a budget, you can even find their adorable red rain boots at Jumbo at a discounted price. Seco located at Armenia 1646

If it’s rainproof shoes you’re after, Melissa is the perfect spot for you. The new winter collection of classic pumps, Mary Janes, and flats are made entirely of plastic. A few pairs even
look as if they are made out of suede, but don’t be fooled. These too are derived from a durable plastic material that can withstand the rain. At Melissa, don’t expect your typical dull winter colors. In the eclectic boutique, you can find styles from bright red to burgundy to purple and even green. The shoes at Melissa are a great choice if you need a resilient pair that can still be worn to a cocktail party. Melissa is located at Gurruchaga 1785.

Since prices are skyrocketing in BA, it can be difficult to find heavy winter gear that doesn’t come at a high cost. One of my fave chains for low budget high style is Koxis. This winter they have truly outdone themselves. The racks are stocked with printed leggings, cozy sweaters, maxi skirts, and trench coats. They even have a few adorable knitted hats, gloves, and scarves, so you’ve got your accessories covered. The options are plentiful, and the line is fun and creative, so if you’re stocking up for winter on a low budget, head to Koxis and pick out
some great pieces at a good price. Koxis is located at Av. Santa Fe 2076 or Cabildo 2186.

The change of season is always a challenge for our closet. This winter, be prepared to enjoy the cold and embrace the rain with the best of BA style.
