For the serious tango student or for the those that want to see the “real tango” without the glitz and choreography.

The friendly and skilled couple Ruben and Cherie were previously world tango finalists in 2006. The gentleman, Ruben has been dancing tango for 20 years, a traditional and old school “tanguero” (tango dancer) and Cherie, from the U.S., is one of the most passionate dancers we have ever met. They teach the “real tango” as danced socially in milongas (tango dance halls/clubs), they will show you the codes and edict of the milongas, ensure a good table location and will be happy to dance with you. These lessons and milonga outings are worth every penny and will be an experience you never forget!

This tango team offers bilingual lessons so you hear the instructions in both Argentine Spanish and then in English giving it an Argentine authentic tango feel. Ruben and Cherie teach private or group lessons and then can show you around the local tango milongas if you are interested. You’ll be taken to tango clubs that most tourists would only dream of finding, introduced to other local dancers and get a private tour into the tango world without seeming like a wide eyed tourist.

There are two lesson options available from Cherie and Ruben:

Private lessons
An hour long Tango lesson drawing from the combined experience of Cherie and Ruben.

Milonga Experience
A five hour experience where you start with a private lesson and then will be taken to a milonga and shown the codigos (codes of conduct). Includes entrance fees, transportation and a soft drink.

This tango team has just built a new studio; nice new hardwood floors, high ceilings, greeted with snacks, beverages and complimentary CDs- they create a comfortable environment and are very hospitable. Tango is their specialty, but they also specialize in salsa. The basic steps are covered, great demonstrations of the 3 current tango styles, intermediate and advanced students welcomed as well.

Emmanuel is a young tanguero who dances with Bet E., originally from Germany. Special salsa instructors are called in for any requested salsa classes.

Individual demonstration followed by escorted milonga outing, dinner and transportation. Includes entrance to the milongas.
