Godoy
Paraguay 4905, Palermo Soho
In a city where people are accustomed to eating meat with a cleaver, head to Palermo’s trendy Godoy Restaurant and Bar for a dining experience that touts the “no knives” character of its cuisine. Along with bourgeois ambiance, the sushi and other Asian-inspired small plates offer a variety of flavors, textures and colors that draw very large crowds.
The “No Knives” tour, a new addition to the menu, includes such components as bruschettas, samosas, mini tacos and sushi rolls, served in colorful rows intended for sharing. We especially liked the tacos, one lomo and the other vegetarian, served in large shot-glasses with fresh guacamole at the bottom for dipping. The cous cous + brotes is another solid vegetarian option.
Like at most sushi establishments in Buenos Aires, there was no lack of “Philadelphia” – smothered heavily on the rolls and bruschettas. But I couldn’t complain about the smoked salmon and cream cheese combinations, even if they reminded me more of a New York bagel shop than a fancy Asian fusion restaurant.
The restaurant is a place to go with a group of friends, even if you can’t hear each other. And singles will like the vibe. The huge space became a boliche by midnight. Dress to be seen.

Balthazar
Arribeños 3198, Nuñez
If you haven’t yet found a reason to travel to the quiet, residential Nuñez neighborhood, now you have one: Balthazar. The seven-month old restaurant serves outstanding food in a tasteful, modern environment, replete with black granite bar, sprawling art displays and ornate chandeliers.
The creative menu is tweaked seasonally and offers something for everyone – from international flavors to traditional Argentine asado, all served with an eye for simple yet elegant presentation. Come hungry.
Cheese lovers should share a provoleta appetizer – cheese, grilled, and served in a small pan with toppings. The capresse came topped with olives, pesto and sundried tomatoes, and was impossible not to finish. For a lighter appetizer, the ceviche featured fresh citrus flavors and was served with edible flowers and herbs.
For a traditional grilled entree, choose from a parrilla menu of achuras (organ cuts), beef, pork and poultry. You will feel legit when your meal comes served on a thick wooden slab, with sides of garnish and sauce for dipping.
The pasta selection features ingredients and combinations you’re not used to seeing in Buenos Aires. We devoured the rich pumpkin ravioli with sage and pecorino. I’d love to go back for mushroom risotto with truffle oil.
Wine lovers can choose from an extensive listing chosen by a new sommelier, and the cocktail list was impressive as well. Balthazar is a perfect spot for a slow meal with family, a date or a few close friends. You’ll feel cozy and well served. Terrance seating is also available, and the entire restaurant is outfitted with wifi.
On weekends, Balthazar serves brunch from 9:30 to 4, with options including Omelets, Yogurt and Granola, and French toast.

Club V
Bonpland 1690, Palermo Hollywood
It’s getting hot out there. But don’t worry – we’ve taken it upon ourselves to do the very arduous task of searching for a delicious alcoholic concoction to quench your summertime thirst. And oh did we find it, in the form of a frozen mojito, at Palermo’s new Club V.
It’s a healthy serving of fresh mojito (white rum, sugar, lime juice, water, mint) blended to perfection into smoothie form, chock full of fresh mint leaves and piled high into a martini glass. All of the above is prepared “with love” by the fabulous bartender Tonga. Consider asking for an extra shot of rum if you’re looking for a buzz.
A live DJ sets the mood as you sip cocktails and people-watch Palermo style. This is a good spot to kick off a night on the town. If you need food in your stomach before heading onto the next spot, try a tabla de quesos y fiambres or bruschetta to accompany your drinks. This place isn’t vegetarian friendly though, so herbivores beware.
Reservations required, call 4771-4281 or email info@clubv.com.ar

Las Cañitas has plenty of delicious, upscale restaurants. A walk through this celebrity-laden neighborhood will offer plenty of options for Argentinean cuisine, nice cocktails and tasty appetizers. Here’s a list uggestions from the people that know Buenos Aires best!
Novecento
Location: Baez 199, Las Canitas
Phone: 4778-1900
Type of food: International, Brunch
Avg. Price: $$
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: Good lunch deals, international cuisine and a renowned multi-course Sunday brunch, Novecento is a cornerstone of the Baez street elite restaurants. Great place to start off a night in Las Canitas.

La Guitarrita
Location: Baez 518, Palermo
Phone: 11-4776-8800
Type of food: Pizza
Avg. Price: $
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: By far and away, La Guitarrita is my favorite place in Buenos Aires to grab a slice of delicious pizza. Choose from the extensive list of toppings for your pizza, and to order a slice of faina de cebolla (a sort of chickpea bread with delicious onions baked in and served in wedges) and a penguino de tino (a penguin-shaped carafe of house wine) to accompany your delicious pie.

Campo Bravo
Location: Baez 292, Las Canitas
Phone: 4514-5812
Type of food: Parrilla, Steakhouse
Avg. Price: $$
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: One of the most well-known parrilla restaurants in Las Canitas, Campo Bravo attracts a long line of people every night. The outdoor seating contains a mix of people who love the scene, people who want to be seen and celebrities (we have seen a few here including the famous Argentinean chocolate tycoon Ricardo Ford- he’s pretty short in real life).
________________________________________________________________
The Office
Location: Arévalo 3031, Las Canitas
Phone: 2020-3942
Type of food: American
Avg. Price: $$
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: The Office has quickly gained street cred as the best burgers in town. A nice variety of burgers with some unique twists, theme nights with guest chefs on Tuesdays, 1/2 off Mondays and a great upstairs open air terrace where they sometimes show classic movies like Indiana Jones or Back to the Future. Cool place to grab some beers.

Las Cholas
Location: Arce 306, Las Canitas
Phone: 4899-0094
Type of food: Traditional Northern Argentinean
Avg. Price: $$
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: The top restaurant in Buenos Aires for Northern Argentinean cuisine plus a nice parrilla selection. Lentil stews with chunks of chorizo sausage, corn leaf wrapped tamales with beef and onion, beef and potato pies baked in clay pots- it’s hard to choose unwisely here. Massive line around 9:15 pm every night. Show up early or late*.
Palermo may very well be the restaurant center of the city. There are tons to choose from in every nook of this expansive neighborhood and the hip area of Palermo Hollywood is no exception. Check out this list of restaurants from LandingPadBa!
Acabar
Location: Honduras 5733, Palermo Hollywood
Phone: 4772 0845
Type of food: Picadas & Pizza
Avg. Price: $
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: The main draw of this bar/resto is the massive collection of board games. Large groups of friends meet up, play Jenga, Risk, Sorry and whatever else they can get their hands on. Pizza and Picadas (selections of meats, cheeses and snacks) will be the best of the menu here.

Sugar and Spice
Location: Guatemala 5415, Palermo
Phone: 11-4777-5423
Type of food: bakery goods, cookies
Avg. Price: $
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: Cookies, cookies and more cookies. This fancy bakery makes great treats that are perfect little gifts to share with friends, coworkers and family. Those delicious biscottis that you are eating in cafes all around Buenos Aires? They are from here!

Green Bamboo
Location: Costa Rica 5802, Palermo
Phone: 11-4775-7050
Type of food: Southeast Asian
Avg. Price: $$$
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: Green Bamboo serves up Thai and other southeast Asian cuisine. The restaurant is very hip with tatami tables and mood lighting. The food is a little overrated, but for those with a hankering for a bowl of Pho, it ain’t too shabby. Prices are high and serving sizes are fair enough for one person. Those looking to share plates are gonna go home hungry.

La Celeste
Location: Bonpland 1944, Palermo
Phone: 11-4776-7655
Type of food: Uruguayan Parrilla (BBQ)
Avg. Price: $
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: Craving a chivito (an Uruguayan steak sandwich with every topping imaginable), but don’t want to leave Buenos Aires? Give this Uruguayan parrilla a try. The palomas (meat stuffed with cheese, peppers, and ham) are delicious. The place offers good service and a simple atmosphere with Uruguayan relics and photos covering the walls.

Miranda
Location: Costa Rica 5602, Palermo
Phone: 11-4771-4255
Type of food: Parrilla (Argentine BBQ)
Avg. Price: $$
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: This fashionable Palermo parrilla offers quality steaks at a reasonable price. The ojo de bife (rib eye) and bife de chorizo are very tasty, indeed. Be sure to leave room for dessert because the flan is the best! The atmosphere feels hip with dim lighting and loud music (it isn’t unusual to hear Notorious BIG playing in the background), and the waiters are all young and wearing t-shirts. There are no bow ties and cummerbunds in this nontraditional parrilla. Make sure to arrive early on the weekends because you’ll be on a waiting list after 9:30.

Mumbai
Location: Honduras 5684, Palermo
Phone: 11-4775-9791
Type of food: Indian
Avg. Price: $$$
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: In a city known for the pure simplicity of its food, an evening meal in an Indian restaurant is a real adventure. Mumbai offers a great traditional assortment of Indian dishes that will please any palate. Although some of the more spicy elements of traditional Indian cuisine have been toned down to cater to local tastes, a dinner at Mumbai remains a lovely treat.

Oui Oui
Location: Nicaragua 6068, Palermo
Phone: 11-4778-9614
Type of food: French
Avg. Price: $
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: Tucked away in a less-visited corner of Palermo Hollywood, Oui Oui is the perfect cafe for Sunday brunch. The traditional breakfast is lovely, but the highlight really is the mint lemonade. Be prepared to wait 20 minutes for a table, but once you’ve been seated, you’ll be glad you came.

Pani
Location: Nicaragua 6044, Palermo Hollywood
Phone: 4772-6420
Type of food: French
Avg. Price: $
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: Practically next door to Oui Oui this French inspired cafe has all sorts of salads, cakes, sandwiches and treats. Very spacious, nice ambiance and worth your visit.
Palermo Soho, the most bohemian of the areas in Palermo, offers a variety of dining experiences. From cheap parrillas to ethnic food and upscale erotic restaurants, Soho has it all. Check out our list of recommendations for Palermo Soho and enjoy.
Mark’s Deli & Coffee House
Location: El Salvador 4701, Palermo
Phone: 11-4832-6744
Type of Food: Delicatessen sandwiches and pastries
Avg. Price: $$
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recomendation: Mark’s Deli & Coffee House is a Buenos Aires haven for sandwich lovers. If you’re an expat, this trendy cafe will satisfy your craving for home with all its classic American lunch spot qualities. The sandwiches are large and in-charge, the iced coffee and frozen lemonades deliciously refreshing and the pastries massive. Ingredients like grilled chicken, guacamole, roasted red peppers, bacon and blue cheese are reason enough to check it out.
I would definitely not recommend going to Mark’s during peak lunch hours – the crowds can be overwhelming and the service suffers. However, if you go before or after lunch times, you shouldn’t have a problem finding a table outside to enjoy your massive sandwich in the hip Plaza Armenia atmosphere.

La Cabrera
Location: Cabrera 5099, Palermo
Phone: 11-4831-7002
Type of food: Parrilla (Argentine BBQ)
Avg. Price: $$
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: La Cabrera is on everyone’s list for a great Argentine steak. You’ll certainly enjoy the bife de chorizo or the lomo, but the real highlight is all the delicious side dishes that will accompany your steak. Don’t miss out on this carne treat, but plan to show up early or late as the line can get ridiculous.

Muu Lecheria
Location: Armenia 1810, Palermo Viejo
Phone: 11-4362-6959
Type of food: Diner
Avg. Price: $
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: An old-fashioned style diner, Muu Lecheria serves up amazing milkshakes, towering burgers and delicious sandwiches. In the mood for breakfast? They do that, too. French toast, waffles… you name it.
I’ve been known to have eyes bigger than my stomach, so when I ordered quite a bit of food for myself, the waitress politely informed me that I ordered enough food for an army. “It’s ok. I’m hungry,” I told her. And for the record, I cleaned my plate. The chicken Caesar sandwich… perfection on a plate, I tell you. By the end of my first visit, the waitress and I were like old buddies and I was already planning my next trip to Muu.
White leather booths and checkered tablecloths complete the diner ambiance, and at night old movies like Grease are projected onto the restaurant wall. It may not be the most Argentine restaurant in the city, but that won’t stop me from coming back. In fact, in case you forget what country you’re in, the burgers are adorned with little toothpicks waving Argentine flags. The best thing about the place is that it doesn’t feel forced or cheesy. It’s good food in a fun, laid back and (for lack of better word) cute atmosphere.

Bar 6
Location: Armenia 1676, Palermo
Phone: 11-4833-6807
Type of food: International cuisine
Avg. Price: $$
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: Bar 6, in the heart of trendy Palermo Soho is as trendy as its surroundings. The food is decent, the space is beautiful. If you’re out shopping around Plaza Serrano and want to stop for a nice lunch, this is a good spot. Be sure to order off of the specials of the day menu, as those are the real gems of this restaurant.

Cabernet Restaurant
Location: Jorge L. Borges 1757, Palermo
Phone: 11-4831-3071
Type of food: Fine Dining
Avg. Price: $$$
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: Located near Plaza Serrano, Cabernet was once the only gourmet restaurant in Palermo Soho. The owners had to think twice about whether or not the location would hurt the business. They chose wisely! Chefs Joaquín Alberdi and Luis Coluccio have created an original, tasty menu, full of gourmet dishes. Some items include a spinach salad with poached eggs and salmon, filet mignon with a cabernet reduction and chicken breast stuffed with salmon and wrapped in thin slices of carrot. If you have the budget, this is a place you don’t want to miss. When the weather permits, the patio area is the place to relax with a nice glass of wine from the extensive list. Bottles can be purchased from the same owners across the street.

Krishna
Location: Malabia 1833, Palermo
Phone: 11-4833-4618
Type of food: Indian
Avg. Price: $$
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: Krishna is a very cool Indian and vegetarian* restaurant located in front of Plaza Armenia. With great décor, Krishna is a great place to hang out and savor rich flavors other than pizza and empanadas. The food is ideal for lunch and the prices are reasonable. Order the lemonade with an appetizer and soak up the atmosphere.

Location: Guemes 3657, Palermo
Phone: 11-4822-1038
Type of food: Comida autócotona (northern Argentine)
Avg. Price: $$
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: An essential stop for all visitors to Buenos Aires, La Peña del Colorado offers the prefect combination of food, drink and music. You can pay for the show and enjoy the entertainment as you dine, or sit in the front and just enjoy your meal. After hours, it’s a free-for-all with a traditional peña where anyone can pick up a guitar.

Te Mataré Ramirez
Location: Gorriti 5054, Palermo
Phone: 11-4831-9156
Type of food: Aphrodesiac cuisine
Avg. Price: $$$
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: The menu at the Te Mataré Ramirez is full of deliciously seductive foods with equally tantalizing flavors. The presentation of food gracefully complements the sensual restaurant interior and vibe. One wall is lined with erotic paintings, the other with huge mirrors. The cocktail selection is vast and the service prompt. Check out the restaurant’s website for live show schedules and a preview of the menu.

Sugar Bar
Location: Costa Rica 4619, Palermo
Phone: 4831-3276
Type of food: American, brunch, burgers
Avg. Price: $
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: Want to sit down, enjoy a good burger or brunch? Sugar has got it going on with drink specials, a variety of brunch selections and one of the few spots that are showing US sports and European soccer games on the projector.

Fabrica de Taco
Location: Gorritti 5062, Palermo
Phone: 4832 0875
Type of food: Mexican
Avg. Price: $$
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: The most legit tacos in town. Tacos de Pastor, buckets of Coronas, all sorts of variations on the taco and baked potato. The Mexican wrestler design speaks for itself. * Don’t miss the hidden back patio for fresh air and magaritas at night.

Magdalena’s Party
Location: Thames 1795, Palermo
Phone: 11.4833.9127
Type of food: American, International
Avg. Price: $$
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: Relatively new to the Palermo scene Magdalena’s Party is bringing a lot of missed flavors and dishes to the Buenos Aires cuisine scene. Bloody Mary’s, real Canadian maple syrup, California burritos and many more random surprises. Drinks specials and a party that spills into the street especially on Thursdays and Fridays.
