Summary: The brightly painted façades along El Caminito have made this tourist destination one of the most photographed locations in all of Buenos Aires. Stroll along with other tourists as local artists sell their works and tango dancers exhibit their craft. As legend has it, this neighborhood was the birthplace of tango, so let your imagination run wild.
LandingPadBA.com Recommendation: Although a visit to El Caminito is not likely to be the highlight of your trip to Buenos Aires, it is well worth an afternoon visit. Be careful not to venture into this neighborhood at nighttime, as this is one of the most dangerous places to be after dark. Don’t stray beyond this polychrome pedestrian’s paradise during day or night.
