LandingPadBA.com Recommendation: Ten years ago, the owners of Mundo Bizarro had a brilliant idea- open up a posh American-themed bar for stylish young porteños with red and black lounge decor, Manhattans, Old Fashioneds, Cosmopolitans and American music. Clearly the idea was successful, as copycats began springing up all over the city. Now that you can get a $20 peso martini pretty much anywhere, Mundo Bizarro- known as the “Original Casa de Cocktails”- has become an overpriced, overrated tourist destination. With expensive drinks and a tired Rocky Horror Picture Show ambiance, there are definitely better choices in this hotspot area of Palermo. A good example of how what comes first is not necessarily the best.
