Highlights & Tips:
-Buenos Aires’ best general zone for going out to eat, shopping & night life
-Plaza Armenia, try the corner of Armenia and Costa Rica, houses a weekend outdoor market or fair and is a good place to find restaurants, bars and shopping
-Plaza Serrano, try the corner of Jorge Luis Borges and Honduras, houses a weekend clothing and keep sakes outdoor market and fair. At night it serves as one of Palermo Soho’s bar hopping hot spots.

Attractions: Once deep within Palermo Soho (also known as Palermo Viejo), you’ll notice the older Spanish-style homes where most residences are no more than two stories. Many of the bohemian cafes, ethnic or themed restaurants and chic bars in this area offer outdoor seating along the sidewalks and streets, making for a great opportunity for people watching. This neighborhood is the most memorable area of Palermo.

On weekends, be sure to stop by Plaza Serrano (follow Jorge Luis Borges Street from Plaza Italia inward about 12 blocks). During the day this plaza converts into an outdoor market of sorts, well known for selling clothing. Several of the bars and restaurants surrounding this plaza convert their establishments into temporary clothing stores. Leather purses, trendy button down shirts, dresses and about everything else you can think of will be sold here. Outside of the Plaza Serrano section are lots of designer clothing stores that speckle the area.

At night, Plaza Serrano is often used as a great starting point for the folks that live in Palermo Viejo. The collection of bars and outdoor seating provide a nice place to begin an evening or to drink the night away. Surrounding this area are lots of restaurants and bars. The night life here is relaxed and fun and there’s no shortage of places to go!

Nearby you’ll find another plaza boxed in between Malabia, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Armenia. Many of the trendier bars and restaurants surround this second plaza (Plaza Armenia). During the weekend this area also hosts an outdoor market, but not quite as large as Plaza Serrano’s. The walk between and around these two plazas is always pleasant and perfect for a leisurely afternoon of window shopping and people watching.
