It's unfortunate that the essays are all black and white — the series misses some great color opportunities — the hand puppets, chocolate boxes, little pigs etc — if you're going to do black and white you need to play with contrast more, I don't know if it is from the quality when you're posting but there isn't enough contrast and a flat tonal range. The shots are good, but pump up the contrast and try some color!

I think because black and white abstracts the reality of the commonplace just enough to have us look twice and say, 'hmm, whats that all about?'; black and white makes it easier to create images that people take an interest in. what do you think El?
