If visiting or living in Buenos Aires during any major American sporting event, El Alamo is the spot to watch it. Although the entradas are quite steep, they generally come with free drinks, genial camaraderie and an air conditioned place to watch the game and eat satisfying bar food like nachos and bacon cheeseburgers. Having recently watched the Superbowl there, I thought the atmosphere and service were great, and I was happy to spend my money for the event. However, don’t make a habit of hanging out at El Alamo every weekend- there are way too many authentic Porteño sights to see to spend all your time in a gringo bar!
