Primavera Trujillana
Location: Franklin D. Roosevelt 1627, Belgrano
Phone: 11-4706-1218
Type of food: Peruvian
Avg. Price: $
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LandingPadBA.com Recommendation: Tucked deep behind Chinatown, most don’t even know of Primaver Trujillana. A tragedy. This small, humble little restaurant turns out some of the best seafood Buenos Aires has to offer. Don’t miss out on the ceviche, it’s a real treat! If you manage to wander yonder at lunchtime, you’ll be able to enjoy their great lunch specials (when I was there, they were offering a generous portion of chicken and rice for only $14 pesos).

Dulce Buenos Aires
Location: Gral. Enrique Martinez 1402, Colegiales
Phone: 11-4554-3011
Type of food: Deli
Avg. Price: $
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LandingPadBA.com Rating: Everyone, especially the expats, knows a small spot in Palermo to get a decent French brunch. Unlike its competitor Oui Oui, Dulce Buenos Aires is not overrun with tourists. Furthermore, the food at Dulce Buenos Aires is far superior. Sit outside and soak up some sun while trying any of their famous sandwiches or salads, and don’t forget to try their amazing gazpacho. A trip to Dulce Buenos Aires requires a bit of effort to stray beyond the tourist path, but it is absolutely worth it!

Lo de Paka
Location: Congreso 2011, on the border of Belgrano and Nuñez
Phone: 11-4701-3857
Type of food: Parrilla (Argentine BBQ)
Avg. Price: $$
($ = budget, $$$ = expensive)
LPBA Recommendation: This parrilla may be off the beaten path for many, but it has some of the best steaks in Buenos Aires! It’s also got attentive service and a warm atmosphere, without the pretentiousness of many Palermo eateries. Portions are hearty and the lomo (filet mignon) doesn’t get any more tender than this. On the weekends, make an reservation or go early, as it tends to fill up quickly. You’ll be glad you made the the trip for this hidden gem.
