Jackie Berkery here, LandingPadBA.com intern. I’ve recently returned from an awe-inspiring trip throughout Chile and Argentina, and my first order of business is to share my experiences and insights with you.
Starting in Buenos Aires, we spent almost four weeks with our trusty backpacks, eating way too many ham sandwiches and not showering enough. But, damn, was it an amazing trip.
We mountain biked through the lakes region. We white-water rafted next to volcanoes. We hiked on a glacier. We woke up at 3am to see the stars in a Chilean national park and then climbed to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise. I did so many things I’ve never done before, and can’t wait to do again. And if you get me talking, I will use all my might to convince you to do the same.
Ten breathtaking and unique spots made up our list: Santiago, Valparaiso, Viña del Mar, Puerto Varas, Bariloche, El Calafate, Glaciar Perito Moreno, Puerto Natales, Parque Nacional Torres del Paine, and Ushuaia. Exhausting? Yes. Incredible? Absolutely.
In the following articles I’ll share with you my favorite sights, tips for getting around, where to stay, how to make the most out of your trip, and what the must-sees are of Chile and Argentina.
For the record, I don’t claim to be an expert on these topics by any means. Heck, I don’t hike or camp under normal circumstances. But I did on this trip, and I picked up a few tips here and there about how to navigate and best enjoy these two beautiful countries.
