Summary: Founded in 1986 under the auspices of Michaela (Lita) Cadenas, the Xul Solar Museum houses a collection of paintings personally selected by the great Argentine artist himself, aalong with  a series of his personal effects. Housed in a renovated portion of Solar’s former residence, this museum exhibits the various Surrealist creations of this internationally renowned artist. Although this building was once the artist’s home, unfortunately, his apartment is not open for tours.

LandingPadBA.com Recommendation: For art lovers, a visit to this museum is an opportunity to tread on territory that scholars in the US and abroad have rarely dared to venture. For architecture enthusiasts, the gallery spaces—which were designed to mimic the twisted and deliberately nonsensical forms of Solar’s watercolors—are a treat. Unfortunately, those uninterested in art or architecture probably won’t enjoy this one at all.
