This stadium is the most family friendly of the Buenos Aires soccer options. Travelers are not a common sight here so often times you may be welcomed with curiosity and lots of questions (proud that you have come to see their team).

Independiente is one of the “big 5” teams in Argentina and most recently was crowned the Copa Suramericana 2017 champions. Located 20 minutes outside Buenos Aires in the neighboring suburb Avellaneda, the Rojos (Reds) can be heard chanting and arriving on trains and buses all afternoon on a game day. Where can I buy a jersey?

There will be replica and knock off Independiente merchandise being sold around the stadium on game day. Official kits and jerseys can be found at Adidas flagship stores and any sports stores that carry Adidas products. We recommend searching “tiendas de deportes” in Google maps to see if a sport store is nearby or going to Florida pedestrian street where there are lots of sport stores that sell both official and replica merch.

Can I bring a backpack/purse/small bag?

Anything deemed a potential projectile by security will be confiscated. We have seen security confiscate make up, sun block, perfume, etc.

Where do we meet on game day?

We’ll meet at two convenient locations, Palermo and Recoleta, for a relaxed pre-game with Argentine-style pizza, empanadas, beer, and soft drinks. Our experienced bilingual guides will manage ticket distribution, pacing of the day and keep the game experience stress-free. We’ll head to the stadium together in a private minibus, aiming to have everyone inside at least 20 minutes before kickoff. After the match, we’ll regroup at a designated spot for the private ride back.
