Buenos Aires prides itself on being a very cultural city. Museums are a favorite destination and pastime for travelers and locals alike. With enormous masses visiting these venues daily, many of Buenos Aires’ museums boast lovely cafes and restaurants. One need not travel far to break from the crowds and art (but certainly not the culture); just visit one of these quaint coffee shop cafes.

Museo Evita Restaurant
The restaurant at Museo Evita (Museum Evita Peron) was one of Palermo’s best kept secrets for sometime. An off the beaten path cafe hidden nestled within the building, its Old World charm combined with a lively atmosphere is a wonderful option for Saturday lunch. Currently, the chefs are famous for the creperie, both savory and sweet. Don’t skip the open-air patio.

Croque Madame – Museo Nacional de Arte Decorativo
If lunching with the ladies is your thing, then you must do it at Croque Madame. Within the grounds of the classic French building on Ave Libertador (also near Palermo Chico), this exquisite building is home to the Oriental and Decorative Arts Museum. Its French architecture is almost as impressive as its Croque Monsieur.

La Coleccion is as chic as it gets. Not only is this museum cafe located in the exclusive neighborhood of Puerto Madero, its outside seating has one of the best views in the city. The Mediterranean menu prides itself on organic produce and fresh seafood.

Museo Eduardo Sivori

Cafe Sivori is a hidden gem for those that need to use the bathroom at the Lagos de Palermo (Palermo park areas), but more importantly, for those that would like to have a quiet drink and piece of pie. The museum is surrounded by open fields, lakes, running trails, bike paths and some of the greenest areas in Buenos Aires. It is located in a less-frequented museum that boasts over 500 original Argentinean art pieces.
